A Day Past

Well, I've come to the conclusion that I must have a comfortable uterus. Strange though, but it must be true because *someone* is still in there, yet to reveal himself to the world. I find it hard to be patient, but I know that in a matter of days he will be here, one way or another. Today Kaylee and I were listening to some praise music and one particular line grabbed me..."creation longs for what's in store..." Of course Adam and I and our family (etc) are creation, and of course we are longing for what is in store concerning this baby. But to expand that...CREATION...longs...mind blowing. CREATION longs for this little boy inside of me to come out (in God's timing of course) and reveal his GOD given and prepared life. I really don't even know how to explain with words this feeling that I have-it's so huge (like my belly). But seriously...I think that these thoughts require much more thinking and praying and pondering before I can really express them, but for now...the beginning...

It's It!...or not...

Saturday we had a full day...a small bit of yardsaling in the morning. to town to get dog food and meet up with family...home to make grape jelly...lots of activity, but nothing out of the ordinary really.

Kaylee went home with Mimi and Pops so that Adam and I could make jelly without our little helper. We usually let her help with everything...everything...She loves to help and I never want to stop that. She feels so proud of herself and so encouraged when she learns something. But grape-bright purple concord grape-was not something that I really wanted her help with this time. Adam and I were purple enough without her help. :)

After we got the juice made (the biggest part of making grape jelly), we decided to take a break and go get Kaylee and finish the jelly on Sunday afternoon. We played for a while and ate some yummy lasagna then went home. Kaylee went to bed, and we went to our room to watch a movie and relax in the AC.

And that was the end...

Well, normally that would be the end of our day. But I started to have some contractions. Nothing new either. I've been having them for months. But after about 30 minutes with them coming every 5 minutes I started to wonder if something was happening. Then an hour of every 5 minutes. I moved into all kinds of different positions, walked around, took a shower...anything I could that would normally make them stop if they were going to stop...nothing. So, after about three hours of contractions every 5 minutes, I called the midwife. She told me to come in whenever I wanted...she felt I had at least and hour or two. So we called Megan to come stay with Kaylee and didn't tell anyone else. We wanted to make sure that something was happening before we made everyone loose their good night's sleep.

We got to the hospital, got hooked up to the monitors...definitely having good regular contractions...not dialating! urgh... So up to walk for about an hour. We walked ALL over the hospital-up and down stairs, across the bridge, everywhere we could go. And still nothing...almost 9 hours of regular contractions and nothing. So we went home, went to bed, and here we are. STILL no baby, still waiting.

Adam and I had a nice time (although a while night's sleep lost) together. It was quiet and we could just be together and talk. I'm still a little frustrated and really hoping that when it does happen I will really know...cause we both would have put money on it that that was going to be it.

So hopefully the next post will be full of pictures of our new little one - on the outside - after real labor.

Just for Laughs

So I get this e-mail thing telling me about my pregnancy week by week. It lets me know the approximate size of the baby, what is going on developmentally, advertises thigns to make the nursery beautiful (If you have a million dollar budget) etc. Today there was a funny section.
"Five things your partner should never say:
1. Mooooo
2. Ouch - a paper cut. I wonder if this is what lobor feels like"
3. Is that a watermelon under your shirt or are you just glad to see me?
4. My father called again to ask about your cervix.
5. Is that your underwear or did a parachute land on your butt?"

Slightly off...but funny...at least at this point.

Will get back to reality blogs at a later time...for now, brain vacation...

39 Weeks

I know...the whole posting thing without pictures is getting really old. I was hoping to take Kaylee outside today and get a bunch of new, exciting pictures. Instead it rained and we stayed inside alllll day.

It's crazy to think that my actual due date is in one week. For some reason I thought that I might go early, but I guess the trend was set with Kaylee and I probably get to go all the way...although I am really praying that I might be able to have him tomorrow as my favorite midwife is on call...pray...pray...pray...

But, even though I don't have any pictures, here are some random memories and thoughts from the past week or so:

~ The other night Kaylee and I were at Adam's parents and Pops taught Kaylee to raise her hand and say Jesus...so precious...and although she doesn't entirely know what she is doing, a sence of praise is already running through this child (who loves to sing and dance) and this only adds to it.

~ Mimi said "mercy" and ever since then, Kaylee goes around saying MERCY! Pretty hilarious coming from an 18 month old.

~ The other night as Adam and I were putting Kaylee to bed and doing our routine kisses, Adam decided to include Logan (belly) into the circle of kisses...Kaylee reall got into that one and loved kissing my belly.

~ For the past several weeks Kaylee's new and constant thing is to COLOR!!! She has actually done really well, and even when she slips away with a crayon has managed to only color on paper...even if it is not a coloring book, she seems to know to stay on paper and not on the walls, although she did contemplate the TV at one time.

I love being a mom, and I can't wait until Logan is born and I can get back to feeling "normal" (whatever that is really). These past few weeks I can really feel myself slowing down, getting more tired, swollen at times, and definitely more uncomfortable. I feel like it's getting in the way of me being the mom to Kaylee that I want to be, so I am really ready to move onto the next chapter of actually having Logan here. I know that it will never be the same, but I'm ready for that. I can't wait to see Kaylee be a big sister. I know with her personality that there are bound to be challenges, but she really has such a sweet and caring heart, that I know the sweet times are going to melt away the frustrating times. (someone remind me of that later when I post about her trying to drag him somewhere or do something that makes me pull out some hair)... :)

Well, here's hoping that the next post is soon and is full of new pictures of Logan Michael....hurry up and come my little guy!

38 Weeks

I had another appointment yesterday. Logan looks good - growing and a good strong heartbeat - and fast for a boy...he's a very, very, active little guy. He tends to kick whatever midwife is trying to listen to him. :) As the midwife was telling me that they would see us back in a week, she paused...I figured she would say that there was a good chance that he would be here before then...nope...she asked if Kaylee was early or late...5 days late...oh then..."I'm sure then we'll see you next week..." Not what I wanted to hear! Oh well, in the grand scheme of things a few more days really isn't that much - I still didn't want to hear it though. :) So..we...wait...

Seeking A Job

Since I finished my medical transcription training, I am now looking for a job. If anyone hears of a doctor's office looking for a transcriptionist or knows anyone who currently works as a transcritionist that might be able to offer advice or help me find a job, please let me know.

If you don't know anything about this field of work, that's fine, I would also appreciate prayers from anyone and everyone that I will find a job. The first job can be hard to find as many employers want someone with experience. I knew this going into the training, but was encouraged that if you look enough you can find something.

But..with Logan coming any day now I want to pray for the supernatural to happen with this job. So please pray with me that I find one, that it is the right one...that I will work for people who are good to work for and with and that the timing of the position will fall into place around the birth of Logan.

Oh The Joys...

Of computer problems that is. My next blog with pictures might be a little bit as we get all things related to our computer restored. We had been having problems with "blue screen errors" for a while, and finally the computer tech people recommended that we back up all our files and erase our computer and then reload everything back onto it. Adam spend Friday...the entire Friday...working on it. We ran into some frustrating problems, but it *might* be almost fixed now.

Still waiting for the boy to come. I've had some times where I really think that things might be starting to happen, but much to my dismay they end. I'm trying to prepare myself to go all the way with this one too, even though I am just so physically ready to have him, I know that God has his birthday picked out already, I just have to wait and see when it is! :)

37 Weeks

Today is the 37 week appointment. I've been really ready for him to come for a while, but I am not sure what makes me think that he would...Kaylee was 5 days late. Wishful thinking? Anyway, today should be a busy day - helping my mother in law with her first day of school stuff. She teaches 1st grade and needs some helpers getting the kids stuff unpacked and put away, making sure that everything is labeled. The its off to the 37 week appointment, the dentist and then Adam's dentist appointment. Should be tons of fun. Today is the "last" day of truly planned activities, although we, of course, have other things planned, they are easily skipped if by some miracle he would come soon.

I will post something more exciting soon...just been busy trying to get stuff together and planned and ready.

36 weeks...and counting

Today I have my 36 week appointment. Then it's onto every week until he is born. I am getting really excited and I am just plain ready to have him come out. I've been having tons of contractions (for months actually) but the other night I told Adam that if they didn't stop I was going to have to start timing them...although I really didn't think that it "was time." Adam works a double shift tomorrow and Friday, so anytime after that would be a great time for him to come.

Sleep Pictures Again...

I went into check on Kaylee the other night and this is what I found:

I did uncover her, but not before getting a picture. :)

This picture sort of shows her bad run in with the mosquito. (Her right upper arm)

Thoughts and Reflections

I kind of laugh as I start to write this blog, because I know what Adam is going to say...why do you put all that mushy stuff on there? (Let him just wait until I do the blog of our recent anniversary and how much HE means to me!!) Pregnancy hormones? But whatever the reason, I've been doing a lot of thinking about my kids. With one 17 month old and another just weeks or days from being born, I can't help but think about what I want for them...my dreams...desires as a mom to help them grow...and although there is so much more, the song "Help You Find Your Wings" by Mark Harris really says it well:

Mark Harris - Find Your Wings
From the album The Line Between The Two

It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
You're walking in the truth
And If I never told you
I want you to know
As I watch you grow

Chorus:
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
Oh, but more than memories

Chorus:

It's not living if you don't reach for the sky
I'll have tears as you take off
But I'll cheer as you fly

If you have not heard it, I recommend downloading it and listening. If you tend to be emotional like me, grab a box of tissues first. This is one of the many songs that my mom has "given" me. This is something that she has done for years...always with a song that makes me cry from the first cord. And my mother-in-law seems to do the same thing...between the two I can't get through any kind of event without them playing me a song that makes me sob. (A few of the songs that I've been "given": I Hope You Dance, Cinderella, In My Arms, Never Be One Again,...) If they don't stop I won't be able to turn on the radio anymore! :)

This song really reminds me that I can have many dreams for my kids, but really, I want God to fill them with HIS dreams...I want them to walk in HIS truth...

Berry Picking and The Park

A few weeks ago Adam, his mom and I took Kaylee and the kids that I watch blackberry picking and to the park for a picnic lunch. It was a lot of fun, although I had almost forgotten about it until I downloaded the fair pictures.

Anyway, even though it isn't in chronological order anymore, wanted to blog it...

I think that in all the kid craziness I forgot to take a final picture of all of the berries, but we were able to pick a lot. They were juicy and ripe and really good...all of ate a bunch...the babies ate so many that I am sure they were a blackberry away from turning into one. The older girl that I watch was a great picker and did really well at increasing our loot.

Close to the end I noticed that Kaylee had picked an unripe berry and was eating it. I asked Mimi (Adam's mom) to check...turned out it was a rock. Leave it to my kid.

It was a really fun day and the kids did really well. Hardly any complaining. And even though it was a bit tiring for me, it was worth it to get them all out of the house and do something different and fun.

Here are a few more pictures from the park and then the very sleepy kids on the way home. I think that it took about 1-2 minutes for all three kids to fall asleep. Fortunately we weren't too far away from home, so we were able to let them finish their naps once we got home.

Fair Time

Every year we try to visit the fair at least one evening. When Adam was in high school he showed different animals, so fair week was an important and busy time for him. Now we don't do anything but go and eat and walk around, but who knows...maybe sometime our kids will show too. (I know that would make for a very proud and happy daddy!)

Last year Kaylee was pretty little and really did not know what was going on. This year was more fun because she is learning her animals and what sounds everything makes, so she was able to see up close these cow, pig and sheep things. (The other day anything you asked her said Moo, so Adam got a big kick out of asking her what mommy says...mooo...much laughter)

Kaylee generally is not afraid of anything. She loves the zoo, so when a guy said that if she wasn't scared she could pet his sheep, I didn't hesitate. Well, at first she was really excited, but then the sheep turned and said, "Baaa." She screamed. And turn. And practically jumped into Adam's arms. Not quite the reaction I was anticipating. I think that it mostly caught her off guard. It took a while, but she did calm down and make friends with some other sheep. Perhaps her great surprise was due to the fact that she has a sleep sheep, but it does not baaa, it makes whale and water sounds...hopefully this will not confuse her for life. In her mind she probably thought that the sheep would sound like rain.

Here she is with the frightening sheep.

This is after the crying stopped and she was making friends with some other sheep.

A few more fair pictures:
One with daddy and the other with her friend the balloon...give the girl a balloon and she is a happy little camper!

Logan

I had my 34 week appointment on Friday and everything is looking great. It is getting really exciting to think that in just a few weeks we will be bringing our little boy into the world and into our home. It's also exciting to be at the point that if we were to have him now, everything would be fine. Maybe a few extra days at the hospital...but like the midwife said the other day, they wouldn't try to stop the labor and they wouldn't worry about him being born now.

We were fortunate to get some more pictures of him this time, and he's a cutie if I do say so myself! It's really fun to see his face, as we had an ultrasound at almost every single appointment with Kaylee and she decided to never show her face...maybe a partial glimpse, but never the whole thing. When we started, the cord was in front of his face, but he moved it enough to give us some good looks at his face, and then he put his hand up as if to say...no more! I'm done.

Enough...I'm finished.

We also spend several hours on Friday and most of the day on Saturday helping my parents move. Everything went well and we got a lot accomplished. There is still a lot more to do, but they are living in their new house with most of the necessities set up.

Fortunately on Friday Mimi and Pops (Adam's parents) watched Kaylee while we went to appointments and helped move and her Aunt Megan watched her on Saturday. She has not been feeling too good - mostly due to the cold that started the day after her skin infection...poor pumpkin!

Oh what a day...

So I have mentioned before that things just seem to happen when Adam is at work (for his 24 hours at a time). Well, the other night Kaylee got some kind of bug bite. No big deal. Happens all the time in the summer. Happens a lot to the two of us. Adam thanks me for passing down my gene for swelling and itching (sort of like an elephant has chomped down) to our little girl. So when the new bite appeared I rubbed some cream on it and thought that would be it. It wasn't. By today she not only had the bite, but her arm sort of looked sumo wrestler like and was really red. So my mother in law came to stay with the kids I watch and I took her to the doctor to find out that she had an infection around the bite. Fortunately she doesn't seem that bothered by it and the meds should clear it up quickly.

And so with that, we start our very, very busy weekend.

Rough Draft of schedule:
Friday:
Get up early, go to children's clothing sale at 7:30
11:00 Pre- register at hospital for Logan's arrival.
1:45 Doctor's appointment (34 weeks - no, the appointment should not take 34 weeks, that's just how long my little resident has been hitchhiking.)
Go pick up refrigerator mover
Go to mom and dad's and start moving stuff.
Come home...fall in big giant heap on floor until Saturday.

Saturday:
Get up even earlier.
Leave at 7am to continue the big move. Events not time scheduled...
Come home...go into coma...

At a time not so long ago a schedule like this would have seemed like nothing, but being hot and sporting the belly that I have everything seems to take longer and more effort...and that's just breathing...
I go to bend over and am stopped short of what I should be able to do.
Oh, the hoping that he comes just a little early...
Will try to post a preggy belly picture soon. :)
